Hi. I'm Heather Morrison-Tapley. Author, Acupuncturist, Chinese Herbalist, mom, wife, dog, cat and chicken mom and lots of other things! Thanks for visiting my page! I am thrilled to have published my first book, The Herbalist, to great reviews and sales, I am still kind of reeling from it all! My second book, Highland Magic was the 2024 Bookfest Award First Prize Winner for novel with folklore & magic and a 2024 Finalist for the National Indie Excellence Award. You can find my books on Amazon.com and in select bookstores. Scroll down for a little info about me if you like. Thanks!
My Story
Heather Morrison-Tapley
is a nationally licensed acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist with a practice in Kennebunk, Maine, where she lives with her husband and children. She recently published her first novel. Set in both New York City and a village in England. Heather is a dual US/UK citizen and grew up spending school years at home in the New York area and summers in Great Britain with her family.

She has a master’s degree in Oriental Medicine and completed an internship in Acupuncture & herbal medicine at the Sino-Japanese Friendship Hospital in Beijing, China. She also has a master’s degree from the University of Chicago in Social Science. Heather also spent time each summer in Maine where she fell in love with the state. After living in New York, San Francisco, Paris, and Santa Fe, she moved here and never plans to leave! Heather feels Maine has the kind of magic that she loves to write about - that special something you can’t quite put your finger on, but that you can feel all around.

She is currently working on her second novel, set in the Scottish Highlands.

"I have always loved to write, starting with poetry at age 7. It took me 40+ years to get to a place where I have published my work and put it out there, but better late than never! I am now working on my second novel and am in the process of building a tiny cottage (I don't like the phrase she-shed, sounds like somewhere I'd go to complain about my husband or something) in my backyard to honor this part of my life for the first time."
